  124. ===== Installation =====================================

  126. Because Crossdown is a Windows application, the installation procedure
  127. is quite simple.  The package includes the file, "SETUP.EXE", which
  128. automates the entire process.  You will need about 2MB of available disk
  129. space on the hard drive on which you plan to install Crossdown.
  130.  
  131. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  132. Crossdown.
  133.  
  134. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTE
  135.  
  136. To install from diskette, you need to perform the following steps.
  137.  
  138.    o  Place Crossdown distribution diskette in the appropriate
  139.       diskette drive.
  140.  
  141.    o  From the Windows Main Menu, select FILE, then select RUN.
  142.       In the Command Line box, type the drive letter containing
  143.       the distribution disk followed by "SETUP.EXE." For example,
  144.       if the distribution disk is in drive A, type "A:SETUP.EXE."
  145.  
  146.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  147.  
  148. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  149.  
  150. If you downloaded Crossdown from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  151. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  152. following steps.

  154.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  155.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  156.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  157.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  158.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  159.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  160.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  161.       the package.
  162.  
  163.    o  From the Windows Main Menu, select FILE, then select RUN.
  164.       In the Command Line box, type the pathname of the temporary
  165.       directory containing the Crossdown files followed by
  166.       "SETUP.EXE." For example, if the temporary directory is

  171. When you're satisfied that the installation was successful, you should
  172. delete the temporary directory FROM which you installed Crossdown

  178. the Windows desktop by double-clicking on its icon.
